Lunch & School Accessories FAQs
What school accessories do kids need in Australia?
Most school lists cover a pencil case, a hat (and a way to keep it on the bag), a drink bottle, a lunch box and something for yoghurt or dips. Reusable pouches, kids cutlery and a magnetic hat clip cover the bits that usually go missing.
Lay out the things your child takes on an ordinary day before choosing extras. A lunch box, bottle and separate fruit-break container usually need a place of their own; a library bag might only travel on borrowing day. Check whether the school supplies cutlery and whether lunch stays in the classroom or a fridge. That tells you what needs to fit together and which pieces you can leave off the shopping list.
How does a magnetic hat clip work?
It clips onto a D-ring, strap, handle or zip loop and holds the school hat on the outside of the bag with a magnet, so kids can take it off and put it back without help. Every Spixal Junior and Axis backpack has a D-ring made for it.
Choose a secure attachment point that is easy to reach when the bag is hanging up. Test it with the actual hat, because thick seams and differently shaped brims sit differently between the magnets. Before heading out, give the attached hat a gentle check and make sure it is clear of the ground. The clip is for carrying a hat between uses; put the hat back on for outdoor play.
Are Spixal reusable pouches dishwasher safe?
Yes. The 160ml squeeze pouches are BPA-free food-grade silicone, dishwasher safe and freezer friendly, and every pack includes a cleaning brush.
Empty any leftovers when the pouch comes home, then rinse before food dries around the opening. Use the included brush to reach the spout and corners, and wash the closure as well as the pouch body. Leave all washed parts open to dry before putting them away. A second pouch is handy when one is still drying, so you do not have to refill damp storage straight from the rack.
What comes in a kids cutlery set?
A stainless steel spoon, fork and reusable chopsticks in their own case. It's dishwasher safe and folds small enough to fit any lunch bag.
Pack the utensil the meal calls for: a spoon for yoghurt or rice, a fork for pasta, and chopsticks when your child is comfortable using them. The case gives the pieces a place to come home, including after a messy lunch. Show younger children how the folding pieces open before the first school day, and wash and dry the utensils before closing them back inside the case.
Can I buy a matching pencil case and school backpack?
Yes. Junior pencil cases match the Junior backpacks and lunch bags, and Axis pencil cases match the Axis backpacks and library bags.
Match the range name as well as the colour. A printed Junior piece and a plain Axis piece can look good together, but they are different designs. Open the individual product photos to see the complete print and trim. If siblings like the same design, add a name inside each bag and on removable lunch pieces so matching gear still finds its way to the right person.
