Where do I start if I'm not sure what I need?

Start with your child's stage. Most families pick a backpack first, then a lunch bag and lunch box that match it. Our bundles put those pieces together for less than buying them separately.

Make a short list of what is missing from the current setup. If the backpack still works, start with the lunch container or bottle that needs replacing. If you are starting from scratch, choose the main bag and lunch box together so you can check their dimensions. Add a separate snack container only if the school routine needs one. This keeps the order focused on things that will be used each week.

Which lunch box suits my child's age?

For kindy and prep, the Duo bento opens with one clip and comes with a 200ml food jar. For primary school, a 3 or 5 compartment silicone bento or the Roundie covers a full day. Teens usually want the 1200ml Core stainless steel lunch box and the 800ml food jar, which keeps food hot for up to 5 hours.

Appetite, food preferences and the school timetable are more useful than age on its own. A younger child may want several small foods, while an older child might prefer a wrap and one larger side. Ask whether recess and lunch are unpacked separately. Then choose a lid your child can manage and a layout that fits their usual food, with any fruit-break container accessible without opening the main lunch.

Start with three decisions: the size of the meal, whether any food is runny, and whether you need to reheat it. That narrows the choice more quickly than choosing a colour first. Compare the shape of the largest section with the sandwich, wrap or leftovers you normally pack. For a child, finish with a practical lid-opening test and a check that the box fits their lunch bag with a cooling pack.

Which backpack suits my child's age?

The 25L Junior backpack suits daycare, kindy and the first years of school. The 28L Axis backpack, with a 15-inch laptop sleeve, suits primary and high school. Teens can also choose the Daily, Flex, Momentum or Commute.

Use the school packing list and your child's fit together. A laptop, A4 folder and sports kit change the space needed, but a bigger bag still needs to sit comfortably when loaded. Check strap adjustment, access to the bottle pocket and whether your child can manage the zips. If the daily load is small, do not choose extra capacity simply because the next school year is approaching.

Do the pieces match?

Yes. Lunch boxes, lunch bags, drink bottles, pencil cases and backpacks come in coordinating colours and prints, so a set is easy to build and easy for kids to recognise as theirs.

Match the range name as well as the colour. A printed Junior piece and a plain Axis piece can look good together, but they are different designs. Open the individual product photos to see the complete print and trim. If siblings like the same design, add a name inside each bag and on removable lunch pieces so matching gear still finds its way to the right person.

How much is shipping?

The published Australian standard shipping charge is $9.95, with free shipping on qualifying orders of $89 or more. The store also advertises same-business-day dispatch before its 1pm Adelaide-time cut-off. Check the current shipping page and checkout for the terms that apply to your order.

Dispatch is when an order leaves the warehouse; delivery is when the carrier brings it to you. They are different dates, especially around weekends, public holidays and busy school-shopping periods. Check the shipping page for current processing details and the checkout for the delivery charge to your address. If you need an order for a particular first day or trip, allow time for the journey as well as packing at the warehouse.

What if it's not quite right?

Spixal offers a 30-day returns policy for eligible unused items in their original packaging, with return postage covered within Australia. Products also have the 12-month Made To Last warranty. Check the current policy pages for the full conditions.

Keep the order confirmation and packaging while you check that the item suits your setup. Test the size and closures before using it for food or sending it to school. For a problem with the item, contact the store with the order number, a description and clear photos so the team can assess it. Use the current returns and warranty pages for the conditions and the steps to follow.
